Calaveras – Sketchbook Design

During the month of October our Art I and II classes studied the ancient celebration of Dia de los Muertos and how the artwork of ancient and contemporary Mexican culture is affected by the holiday.  For a weekly sketchbook assignment, my students looked at the many examples of the decorative ‘calaveras’ for the celebration and then were free to design their own.  Here are some of my favorites!
