Kandinsky Sketchbooks

Posted: November 17, 2010 in Sketchbooks

In preparation for an upcoming non-objective project, I’m having the Art I and II students explore the work of Wassily Kandinsky.  For their first non-objective sketchbook, they recreated Kandinsky’s Yellow, Red Blue.  I thought Whitney’s (2nd Period) watercolor/mixed media interpretation was very well done.

The next week, the students were asked to create a work in the style of Kandinsky that represents how one of the following emotions feels – anger, happiness, love, loneliness, frustration or embarassment.  I think Draven (1st period) did a nice job with this marker creation.
